Learn as much as you can about the business side of being a member of these groups. Many students feel like they don't deserve any recognition or rewards. But this is a common mistake made by many people. Recognition is important, but having to work for it is even more so. The more you gain the better you will be prepared. Knowledge is always power. When you start gaining knowledge and understanding of subjects you can apply this to your life in a number of different ways.

For example if you are in high school and are in the beginning stages of discovering what your major will be then find something in the class that interests you. This could be an art class, something that you haven't even seen yet, or just about anything. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean you won't like it.

This may sound silly at first but there are countless ways that people go about thinking outside the box. You can go about getting an education by taking a subject you are interested in and finding a way to incorporate that into your daily life.
